I’m Adorable (says someone else other than me)!

Mitch at http://www.mitchteemley.com/nominated me for a Liebster Award (= favorite” or “adored” one in German). It is an honour to be nominated for a blogging award by anyone but it is even more special to have Mitch, someone who shares my love for directing, acting and performing music, include me as one of his nominees. Thanks Mitch!

Rules: I’m required to Thank the nominator (done), answer the Questions (trying to come up with deep answers or at least avoid embarrassing myself), and Nominate others (I guess I can’t be the only one – I felt really special for a moment there lol).

The Questions

  1. If you could be any animal on earth, what would it be and why?

A mosquito (not technically an animal). From what I know about mosquitos, the only thing they don’t try to suck the blood out of is other mosquitos – I will risk getting splatted on a windshield, zapped by a bug zapper or swatted by a fly swatter, if it means never having another mosquito bite.

  1. If you had to write the soundtrack of your life, what would be the first three songs?

Behind Blue Eyes (The Who). Simply put, it describes what is often behind my always smiling face – almost everyone I know would be surprised at the “sad man behind [my] blue eyes.”

Praise You In This Storm (Casting Crowns). This song is a constant reminder of how I want to respond to the “sad man behind [my] blue eyes.”

Prodigal (David Peever – me). A song about the desire to find peace and forgiveness because of the things that I have done to cope with the “sad man behind [my] blue eyes.”

  1. If your death was imminent, what would you choose as your last meal?

It would depend on who was paying.  There is a little Scottish in me along with a whole lot of Irish. To stay true to both heritages my last meal would most likely include lots of alcohol but only if someone else paid! I also have a Baptist and Pentecostal background so I guess even if it was paid for by someone else I couldn’t drink it. Maybe I’ll just fast, it’s not as though I will need a meal in me if I’m going to die.

  1. What movie that has not yet been made would you pay good money to see?

It’s not so much the film, I’m part Scottish remember, so any film that has Sean Connery and is paid for by someone else. The only good money you spend is someone else’s money!

  1. What was your favorite age to be and why?

Mid-thirties to mid-forties. This was the time when I feel I learned and matured the most leading me to take action. I am still learning and maturing but less energy makes taking action more difficult.

  1. What is the one book that has most inspired your writing and/or life?

The Bible. Paul’s letter to the Philippians is my favorite book of the Bible. As he says in the second chapter “Your [my] attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus…” that is my inspiration for living as a Christ follower.

  1. If you could live anywhere you please, without that pesky restraint called money, where would it be and why?

A cottage in Muskoka, Ontario, Canada, overlooking a lake in the middle of nowhere but still close enough to somewhere so that I didn’t have to rough it too much!
