At a time in our history when terms like “equal opportunity employer” and “colour-blind approach” are becoming more and more the norm, I just wanted you to know that I too am an “equal opportunity employer” and take a “colour-blind approach” when it comes to my un-Christ like behaviour. I don’t care what colour, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation or religion you are, I do not discriminate when I take an ungodly attitude toward people.

There are many out there who choose to accept or dismiss based on their own prejudice.

When it comes to me, I am not a racist, I am a peoplist. If you are a person there is a high likelihood that I will find something about you that will cause me to treat you poorly. Based on your behaviour and/or point of view I may even lump you in with your kind as undesirable and not worthy of my kind.  You may never realize it because when I am around your kind I don’t want my kind to think I am unkind, but secretly I might despise you because of what you look like to me, not my kind.

I may not be a racist but jumping to conclusions based on appearance is my unspiritual gift.                     

I have to admit I have made comments that I wish I never made and generalizations that should never have been a part of the way I view other people. Hearing about these mistakes in isolation would cause many to say I am a racist but those who know me would not agree. The truth is I am more likely to say something ungodly about someone or believe that someone is prone to be a certain way based on a generalization because I am a sinner rather than a racist.

We should never tolerate racism or peoplism.

I pray that one day the words of Martin Luther King Jr. will become a reality around the world for all races. My concern is that we can see colour and gender, we can assume ethnicity, sexual orientation or religion and from that draw the conclusion that our actions or the actions of others are based on bigotry toward that group.

If there is no discernable pattern like colour or religion to the choice of individuals we consider not our kind and if we act kind so that others will not think we are unkind, then peoplism, the un-Christ like behaviour toward those who are not your type of people, will continue.

To Christianize your ungodly attitude toward people is to remove Christ’s unconditional love.

I do not support sinful behaviour nor do I believe that other religions are right or can offer eternal life. I do not believe it is okay to be annoying, rude, condescending, insulting, mean, divisive or anything else that is hurtful. I do not support abusive behaviour or lawlessness, oppression or persecution. I detest many of these behaviours and the rest I hate, especially when they are done to me.

There are times that avoiding someone who does one or more of these things is the right choice. There are other times when enduring the behaviour is appropriate. In other cases, calling the person out is the best option. Never are we called to judge the person as one of “those” people, the ones whose sins disqualify them from being redeemed.

Peoplists are people who feel superior to other people because of their sinfulness.

The sinfulness of the peoplists causes them to look at the sinfulness of others and consider them to be lesser people. Peoplists are racists against the human race because the human race is sinful. Like any race based discrimination the perpetrator sees only the differences. In racism it is usually the different colour of the other person’s skin that causes the divide. In peoplism it is the different sins of the other person that causes the divide.

…do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
