A difficult goal but a Godly one.
As a father I hope I have been right more often than I have been wrong for my children’s sake. I haven’t been keeping score but I also haven’t been ignoring mistakes. I try not to overanalyze every moment but I also try not to miss an opportunity to learn from the good and the bad times. If I live my life in a euphoric state, filling my mind with only good thoughts and memories, it is just as damaging as living in a dark state of emotional pain, filling my mind with only bad thoughts and memories. From time to time my blog will include excerpts from my book “Blueprint.” Like any author/blogger, I find it difficult to leave the words I have written in my computer. As I start to navigate the editing, typesetting, cover design and other aspects of the publishing process I find I am still impatient even though I am getting closer to the finished product. Maybe it’s because someone somewhere needs to read these words now. (more…)
There is only one right way to live, total reliance on God.
It seems like a lifetime ago and a world away. The truth is, it was only fifteen years ago and about one hour away by car, from where I live. I used to call it a publicity stunt or theatrical marketing, now I just call it out of the question. That season has passed and along with it the physical strength needed to accomplish the demanding task. I admit it, I am old, or at least older. I never want to stop carrying my cross, obediently following Jesus’ command, however I am far beyond my literal cross carrying years. (more…)
Some fight to redefine the norm and gain acceptance while others fight to redefine themselves and be accepted. We like to think it’s okay to be different from person to person because each person is unique, but the truth is we all want to be normal, whatever that means. (more…)
