I try not to get jealous over anything, especially the small stuff. I try not to envy or become angry over another person’s good fortune or success. I try to keep in my own lane, looking straight ahead at where I am going rather than at the people around me, but sometimes I end up looking. What We See Becomes What We Know

A Little Knowledge – Me and My Mirror

Humanity has been obsessed with appearance from the moment Adam and Eve took a bite of the forbidden fruit. Genesis 3: 10 (NIV) “[Adam] answered, ‘I heard you in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; so I hid’.” The first sign that what people, or in this case what God sees on the outside matters to us, came three chapters into the Biblical account of the beginning of time. Adam and Eve weren’t hiding because they disobeyed God, although I would suggest part of the naked feeling came from knowing God knew what they did, they hid because they didn’t like the way they looked. They just went against the Creator, the one who only had to speak and it happened, and all they could think about was; don’t look at us we aren’t looking our best.

Program Based Faith or Faith Based Programming?

I wonder what a person attending church for the first time would think the church was all about. I wonder what that same person would say Christianity was about after a few weeks attending the church. I even question what long time church attenders would say belonging to a church and following Jesus was about. No matter how many times we say we are saved by grace through faith and how often we claim we only want to do God’s will, we still find it hard not to buy into the idea that we must be busy doing something.
