There is More to Prayer than the Answer

I sit and wait for God to let me in on His, up until now, secret plot for my life. I have heard it a thousand times or maybe only one hundred times, as a matter of fact I don’t know how many times I have heard it and I don’t know how many times I have preached it but I do know that yes, no or wait are the only possible answers to my requests. We Have Come So Far and Become So Far Away

I just got back from the doctor. No need for concern, just a little preventative medicine. Actions that are taken to improve my health require other actions to be taken to offset the actions taken to improve my health. This has become rather routine and any sense of wonder over the advancements in treatment become lost because I have forgotten what life used to be like. (more…)

We Have it all Wrong

Our political views and our moral stand, our line not to cross and our freedom to partake; we all have assumed at one time or another that how far we are willing to go, the ideologies we follow and the rules we live by are in line with the perfection of the God we serve.

“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,” declares the LordAs the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.  Isaiah 55:8-9

Erode or Redefine

The power of water is terrifying, the results devastating to anyone or anything that gets in its way. Propelled by the wind or the gravitational pull of the moon or the earth, water moves with force as it is whipped up, pulled along or dropped from a cliff. Even the slow romantic water of a creek or the soft rain on a hot summer’s day slowly erodes what was and redefines what will be. (more…)
