Has how we live as individual Christ followers and as individual collectives of Christ followers become less of a calling revealed directly from God and more of an implementation of the latest “how-to” book?

Trust me, in other words, have faith in my ability to deliver on my promise. Can you really trust them? Is there any proof that they are capable of completing the task? Is there any reason to believe they are willing or committed to fulfilling their promise? Could they just be telling you what they think you want to hear in order to gain an advantage over you? Making new disciples is not done at the expense of existing disciples – love it the mark of the Christ follower inside the church and in the community.
It was so simple when I became a follower of Christ. No one presented irrefutable evidence of the existence of God. No one debated me until my arguments seemed farfetched and their defence of biblical content undeniable. I was not challenged by polished presentations or glossy publications. (more…)
