I think I may be taking a chance by putting this out there. I am not attempting to condemn any individual, church or denomination. I simply hope that we can rethink the traditions that have snuck their way into the way we finance the church especially in North America and its mission around the world.

For many, building a shelving unit or entertainment centre, assembling a child’s bike or building a plastic model is more than enough when it comes to building projects. Some of us were successful, others would give themselves a passing grade and the rest just plain gave up. (more…)
From my office I have a beautiful view. It won’t stay this way but for now I get to enjoy what looks like endless forest surrounding my country retreat. As the season ends, so does my view. Behind the soon to be leafless trees is an ugly brick wall, a parking lot and an illuminated drive through menu sign for a fast food restaurant. (more…)
As the bride of Christ, there is so much more to the marriage than the wedding ceremony and honeymoon.
There is no greater desire for a follower of Christ than to hear from God. We’re not sure what it takes but if someone could just give us the formula or the required liturgy we’d pursue it with every ounce of energy that we have. (more…)
