Kanye and the King

I have not been surprised by recent events. The praise given to a famous person for joining “our side” doesn’t shock me. The fear that his new found faith is a publicity stunt or maybe just a stint soon to be replaced by the next thing he embraces is not new when it comes to celebrity transformations. The rush to say that because of his past he may not be what he says he is doesn’t shock me any more than the rush to ignore his past because of his latest confession of faith. God can transform a life and man can imitate a transformed life. Both are not only possible but have been part of human history from the moment a piece of fruit changed us from God reliant to self-seeking beings.

My Bride Is Cheating On Me

Her ties to her single life are strong and her view of commitment differs greatly from mine. I don’t know if she thinks she can get away with it, if she believes I don’t notice or if she actually doesn’t know that what she is doing is wrong. She must realize that I see her, that I know what she is doing and yet she continues. Maybe it’s that she knows my love is unconditional, that I can’t help loving her, after all my love for her defines who I am. Could she be taking advantage of such an undying love? She says she loves me, she says she wants nothing more than to be my bride and yet my bride is cheating on me.

I Am Jesus

If there ever was a line that should not be crossed I think it is the one I just crossed. Proclaiming that I am Jesus invites everything from mocking and laughter to concern and planned intervention. Before I am made fun of and publicly ridiculed, before I am hurried off to the closest psych ward and sedated, I must warn you, not only am I Jesus but you are too!

You Can Trust Him

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Don’t Let The Meat Touch The Vegetables

We all know someone like this. Maybe it’s you that is like this. The peas are in a neat pile. The corn is in its own pile. The mashed potatoes and meat have their place too. Each different item is the appropriate distance from all the other items on the plate to ensure that any jarring of the table does not cause them to touch. Heaven forbid that they come into contact with each other. No one can explain why this is so important but that doesn’t matter. This rule must be observed or the meal will be ruined. Don’t tell people like this that all these things touch each other once they are in the stomach; they may never eat again.
