This was a very thought-provoking post for me. Here in the states, it’s part of our educational system that kings are bad and democracy is good. That’s why we had the revolutionary war, right?!? But it really does make me wonder now how that rejection of kingship might influence our view of God, particularly in these more modern times where the question that most voters seem to have is “What’s in it for me?” Very thought-provoking indeed!
