Do You Attend a Successful Church?

The annual meeting is a yearly event (annual should have given it away) that is just as much a part of the church calendar as Christmas and Easter. Unlike Christmas and Easter, the focus is not on the arrival or sacrifice of the Messiah. In most cases it isn’t about Jesus at all. Often wrapped up in Christian metaphors like ministry, tithes and offerings, attendance, outreach and many more things that we consider our mandate, the annual meeting is really a cost benefit analysis of the previous year. I Have Nothing to Offer

It hurts and it should. It may be my hurt or it may be someone else’s hurt that I observe, but it hurts, and it should. I am a Survivor

In my last blog I posted 7 different things about me that you may not know, but there’s more! You don’t live 50 years and only have 7 things to tell people about yourself. One that seemed a little too serious for the previous post is, I have survived two attempts on my life. Not only did I survive, but I escaped serious injury. (more…)
