We all know someone like this. Maybe it’s you that is like
this. The peas are in a neat pile. The corn is in its own pile. The mashed
potatoes and meat have their place too. Each different item is the appropriate
distance from all the other items on the plate to ensure that any jarring of the
table does not cause them to touch. Heaven forbid that they come into contact
with each other. No one can explain why this is so important but that doesn’t
matter. This rule must be observed or the meal will be ruined. Don’t tell
people like this that all these things touch each other once they are in the
stomach; they may never eat again.
There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death. Proverbs 14:12 (NIV)
Do not forget the lessons you have learned, do not live in the moments you learned them. Do not live in the past, learn from it! To accomplish this we need God’s wisdom not our assumptions to sort through life’s experiences.
As a sinner I am not comfortable with the gospel message because it confronts the deepest darkest part of me but because of the blood of Jesus Christ I am comforted by it because He addressed the deepest darkest part of me.
For those of you who have not been following my “I Am ______”
series; I know I am Dave Peever. I have not had some sort of disconnect from
reality, I know that I am not three people, Ananias, Sapphira and Dave Peever.
While my awareness of reality and mental stability is hopefully reassuring let
me give you a real scare; I am Ananias and Sapphira!
