Looking Forward to Easter

There is no other celebration that captivates our human existence like Easter. Death is the end of all who live, and eternal life is the beginning after the end for all who believe. This is a truth that we, as followers of Christ, hold close. This truth is what we cling to as we face the uncertainties and weaknesses that plague us. As we read about the life of Jesus we see that even His closest friends could not face what was to come.

I Have To Admit, I have Bad Theology!

With the passing of my dad halfway through his 94th year of life, I have found myself remembering him in a way that is bad theologically and yet very true. I could never preach this as it could and should be immediately challenged but still I believe buried deep in its wrong interpretation of grace is the truth. If there is anyone I have known in my life that I would say will, without a doubt, be in heaven, my dad is that person. Based purely on the life he lived (bad theology), he will be there!

What If It Is All Taken Away?

Have you ever imagined life without the things and people that make it special? For some the loss of those closest to them has become a reality while others are coming to grips with the fact that the unavoidable isn’t far away. The remainder are aware that life, even if it is going perfectly at this point, will at some point be interrupted by loss. I must admit as self-absorbed as it seems, lately I have been more focused on the potential loss of the things that make me, me.
