Could Someone Be Opening a Can of Worms?

I am not an expert on opening a can of worms. As a matter of fact, I don’t think I have ever opened a can of worms. I have opened a Styrofoam container of worms when I used to fish. I have opened a can of soup, a can of pop, a can of juice, a can of oil, a can of beer (sorry to those who might be offended by this act), a can of paint, a can of peas, corn, olives, peaches, pears, fruit cocktail and, once when I was in grade school I opened a can of whoop King James donkey (my attempt to avoid further offence) on someone who was bullying me. After this trip down memory lane, I still don’t remember opening a can of worms. By the end of this post, I believe I will have made a case that a can of worms being opened is not only biblical, but it might also be something that will happen again.

Does God Exist?

Is there proof of an intelligent force that is beyond humanity? Did the universe become what we see today by chance or was there a cause behind all that we see? Is that “cause” still active today and if so, what does “active “mean? If you have come to the conclusion that there is something/someone that exists in a capacity far beyond the limits of human existence, what now?

Can You Help Me Find My Glasses?

I lost them a few days ago for about three hours. It wasn’t all out searching for each minute of the three hours. A few times I gave up and did things that didn’t need me to see larger things beyond five or six feet or didn’t require me to read smaller print beyond arm’s length. Once I had done what I could do without my glasses I went back to looking. Then I would give up and do something I could still do without my glasses. After some time without them I got a little nervous that they might be lost for good. I even contemplated putting in my contacts so I could find my glasses but never got that desperate. The bottom line is, I need my glasses to find my glasses.

Where Were You When…?

At first glance this could be a question you would ask of someone you were counting on during a difficult period of time. There is nothing worse than facing the things that life throws at us without the support of those who we feel we can count on. The tone of voice assigned to this question immediately exposes the degree of pain one has been forced to endure in what can be best described as isolation.

I a WOKE this Christmas!

Before you applaud or unsubscribe, maybe you too should consider becoming “WOKE.” As I understand it, WOKE is a term used to describe an awakening that takes place when an individual who has not experienced life the same way another individual has experienced it due to factors such as race, socioeconomic status and historical factors, views life through the lens of the people who do not share the privileges they have simply because they were born in a different environment.  While this term has become a battle cry for social Marxism (here comes the unsubscribes and the applause) this term based on the definition I have created above, can be a great way to view December 25th and Jesus’ birth.

We’re Almost There.

I was thinking about all the things Christians have on our laundry list of what is wrong with civilization these days. While it differs slightly from country to country and from culture to culture, there are some things that I think most Christians agree make a country a Christian country. Some would argue over how sweeping the changes should be, the role of the church in setting the standard and although we are not quite there yet, which church should take the lead role in the design of the country we live in but, I still am comfortable saying that there is a list and it is, for the most part, the same for all Christians. Let me take this a step further. In some countries the list is close to completion, we’re almost there!
