It’s time to cut down the Asherah poles of North American Christianity that have become the focus of worship. It’s time to destroy the heathen culture that has become foundational to our churches. It’s time to rid ourselves of the idols and graven images, the gods we have set up in place of the true God. It’s time to take an Acts to our churches.
It is human nature to seek understanding.
God created us to want to know more. Satan has used this desire that was intended to lead us to consult God, to lead us astray. It’s time to cut out all reliance on things of this world. It’s time to remove the undesirable growth that is choking out the seed that God has planted. It’s time to take an Acts to anything that does not point to the true God.
It is human nature to want to feel in control.
God created us to want to feel like nothing is out of control. Satan has used this desire that was intended to lead us to rely on God, to lead us astray. It’s time to cut out all reliance on systems of this world. It’s time to remove the undesirable growth that is choking out the seed that God has planted. It’s time to take an Acts to anything that does not point to the true God.
It is human nature to seek purpose.
God created us to fulfil His purpose. Satan has used this desire that was intended to lead us to live out God’s plan for our lives, to lead us astray. It’s time to cut out the self-gratifying sense of purpose defined by this world. It’s time to remove the undesirable growth that is choking out the seed that God has planted. It’s time to take an Acts to anything that does not point to the true God.
It is human nature to want to belong.
God created us to seek fellowship. Satan has used this desire that was intended to lead us to be a part of a group of followers of Christ, to lead us astray. It’s time to cut out the human defined system of fitting in based on the culture of this world. It’s time to remove the undesirable growth that is choking out the seed that God has planted. It’s time to take an Acts to anything that does not point to the true God.
It is human nature to want to be successful.
God created us to seek to be all that we were created to be. Satan has used this desire that was intended to drive us to be godly, to lead us astray. It’s time to cut out all markers of success dictated by the ways of this world. It’s time to remove the undesirable growth that is choking out the seed that God has planted. It’s time to take an Acts to anything that does not point to the true God.
It is time to ax human nature and Acts the church.
All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Acts 2:44-47 (NIV)
What does an Acts based church look like in 2022?
I totally agree with your thoughts on this. I just wish you were able to be more specific on what you could see was the cause of all this “idolatry”, and what idols are you seeing?
I love Jeremiah, and I could relate to his call, Judgement was coming and he had to be faithful to warning the people on what the Lord was desiring of His People………
I’ve been seeing this “idolatry” since the mid 90’s, and the many heretic’s which have contributed to this Apostasy which is so prevalent in main-stream, so-called Christianity……..the Christian culture as we see it now, is pushing a “political Jesus” for a earthly kingdom. While we are called to a Spiritual Heavenly Kingdom. The present “Church state” has allowed the “ways of the world” into their thinking, and preaching and actions.
It is a crying shame……but this “state” of the present church has been decaying for over a hundred years……as we are told it would happen through the Lord’s Word, Paul saw it coming as the other Apostles did.
The present Main-stream Christianity, (which it is not) is preparing for the acceptance of the Anti-Christ. Paul warned that what we “sow” we shall “reap”……..
The Lord bless you…..

To me, an Acts based church looks like our church in Louisville. I have been involved in numerous churches over the years, and I’ve never experienced a church like this one, where the gospel is clearly presented every week, where everyone is involved with evangelism, where they help one another with everything from moving to rides to the airport to last-minute babysitting, and where prayer is vital. Their prayer meetings every Sunday night are attended by several hundred people, where they pray specific prayers together for specific requests brought by the members – and they share testimonies of the answers to those prayers. (I haver never been to another church where a prayer meeting is attended by more than 20 people.)

You always come up with very thought-provoking posts. Has the control tower told you to land yet? Praying for you.
